Five IUPUI mechanical engineering students developed a method for measuring the addition of dry polymer to a batch process at the TW Moses Water Treatment Plant in Fall of 2017.
Polymer is used to help separate and settle certain components out of water. Citizens’ Operations staff appreciated the simplicity of the low cost solution in addition to the ability of the device to connect to automated controls and fit in the available space.
Measurement of dosage will help reliability of the polymer feed system.
