Noblesville Wellfield

Citizens Energy Group recently expanded our groundwater production capabilities near the Mill Creek neighborhood. Since that time, we have received feedback from nearby homeowners that they are experiencing lower water levels in their residential wells. Citizens is committed to being a good neighbor and restoring any impacted residential wells to their original capacities.

We mailed letters on October 20 and December 2 to homeowners who may be impacted by our expanded wellfield and have since received additional questions from the community. Some of the most common questions we have received are below, along with answers:

How do I get my well adjusted, repaired, or replaced if it no longer provides its normal supply of water?

  1. Citizens has retained a qualified contractor to adjust, repair, or replace residential wells impacted by our wellfield operations. If you would like Citizens’ contractor to repair or replace your impacted well, please contact us by using the form below.

  2. If you have already had your well adjusted, repaired, or replaced, or if you would prefer to use your own contractor, please let us know using the form below, and we will explain the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) reimbursement process. (The IDNR reimbursement process can take between 45 and 60 days.) You may also contact the IDNR directly if you prefer. Their contact information is as follows:

    • Email: water_inquiry@dnr.in.gov

    • Phone: (317) 232-4160 (ext. 4) or 1-877-928-3755 (toll free)

What happens in the future if my well does not work properly due to Citizens’ wellfield operations?

If your water level drops again due to Citizens’ wellfield operations, we will assume responsibility for any required future repairs or replacements.

What steps is Citizens taking to minimize the impact on residential wells in the future?

Citizens is committed to operating our wellfield in a sustainable manner that ensures access to groundwater for all. A hydrologic study is bing conducted to help identify and address potential issues with residential wells in a proactive and timely manner.
