José V. Martínez

Global IT Executive Leader

José Martínez is a global executive leader with 27 years of progressive leadership specializing in driving Information Technology, Data and Cybersecurity strategies, system development, digital transformations, and business technology management. He has extensive experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, relationship management, project management and IT engineering design and support. Martinez has proven results in helping businesses transition to digital, designing and managing high performance teams, and driving business turnaround initiatives. Martinez has a result-oriented management style, capable of building and motivating teams with a profound sense of urgency towards realizing a shared corporate vision and mission. Martinez has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at OneAmerica Financial in Indianapolis, IN leading major digital transformation and service improvement efforts and being named 2021 IBJ CIO of the Year. Since joining OneAmerica Financial in 2014, Martinez has served in multiple Vice President IT leadership roles, leading multiple strategic initiatives to transform the IT, Cybersecurity and Data operating models, creating new functions, such as business relationship and service management. In 2020 he implemented Robotics, DevOps and Agile modern frameworks into the IT operating model, and in 2023 modernized all core functions of Infrastructure and Application Development with key 3rd party global managed service providers.

Prior to joining OneAmerica Financial, Martínez served as Vice President, Communications as a Service (CaaS) for Interactive Intelligence, managing all data centers worldwide for the company’s cloud product. In addition, he served as a senior global delivery executive at IBM, accountable for the delivery of a broad range of IT outsourced services for corporate clients.

Martinez serves on the board of directors of Citizens Energy Group, as well as the advisory board of directors for TechPoint located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Martínez holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also completed an advanced management executive program from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
