Citizens Energy Group employees do more than just supply water, wastewater, natural gas, and thermal energy services to their customers. They are people who volunteer, sing, coach, mentor, and give back to the community where they live and work. They are ordinary people who do extraordinary things, because We’re all Citizens, just like you.
Sharing the Dream
Sharing the Dream is an annual service project through which we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King by refurbishing an Indy Parks facility. Citizens, and partner companies including Marksmen Construction and Mitsch Design, have donated about $3 million during Sharing the Dream projects over the years for improvements to Brookside Park Family Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Park’s pool and bathhouse, Pride Park Community Center, Municipal Gardens, Eagle Creek Hide-A-Way, Perry Park’s Ice Arena, Thatcher Park, Krannert Park, Garfield Park and Riverside Park.
White River Cleanup
Each year Citizens employees join volunteers from Friends of the White River, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works, and other organizations for the White River Cleanup. Our annual support of the White River Cleanup is an important part of our ongoing commitment to restoring the rivers and streams of Central Indiana.
Board Service
Citizens employees provide their leadership and expertise to the board of a wide range of non-profit organizations improving quality of life in our community including the United Way of Central Indiana, the Center for Leadership Development, and the Near North Development Corporation.
Mini-Marathon
When thousands of runners get thirsty during the annual Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon, volunteers from Citizens are on hand at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to hand-out refreshing water.
