    Giving Back

Our philanthropy program focuses on the following five areas.

    Economic Development

We invest in programs to attract and retain businesses in Central Indiana. Organizations we support include the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, neighborhood associations and community development corporations.

    Education

A strong education system to develop future employees is vital for our economy and quality of life. As a result, we support a wide range of educational programs and institutions including Ivy Tech, IPS Bridges to Success, Purdue University’s Science Bound program and the Indianapolis Public Library. Citizens Energy Group has launched its Partnership for Excellence and Learning (PERL) initiative to foster greater student engagement through collaboration on real-world projects.

    Environmental Stewardship

It is critical to Citizens’ mission to protect vital natural resources and be good stewards of our environment. We are focused on environmental protection and sustainability in all of our utility operations. We also provide support to several organizations promoting sustainability including Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Reconnecting to our Waterways, and the Indianapolis Park Foundation.

Our commitment to diversity can be seen with our strong supplier diversity program and our support of organizations such as Indiana Black Expo, Indiana Latino Institute, the National Organization of Women Business Owners, Indy PRIDE and Noble of Indiana.
